We are learning how to take care of our teeth. We received a  colgate tooth paste and tooth brush. We need to brush our teeth everyday in the morning and before we go to bed at night. This will make our teeth white and give us beautiful smiles.

Looking at the new senior classroom

On Wednesday we went to the seniors to look at the big crane moving the huge concrete walls to make the new senior classrooms. We saw one of the workmen hanging on the rope. Lots of other classes also came along to have a look at the crane moving the huge concrete walls for the new senior classrooms. We enjoyed watching the crane working. We went back to our class. 

Art with Whaea Dagmar

We  did art with Whaea Dagmar on Monday. We looked at the works of Geogia O ' Keeffe. We worked with pastels. We  practised drawing shapes and flowers. Then we drew flowers on our piece of paper and we painted them. We liked painting our flowers.

Watching the New Zealand Navy in action

Mr Lyle Cairns and his friends from the navy came to talk to us about what they do at the navy.

They train and do lots of exercise to keep fit. They help keep our country safe. We did sit ups, and push ups. We enjoyed  ourselves.

Learning about a soldier

This week we are learning about a soldier, what he does and what he is wearing. We chose a student from our class to draw around him and make a picture of a soldier.

Our first day having milk

This week was our first week of having anchor milk and fruit. We enjoyed drinking the milk and eating the fruit after lunch. Milk and fruit give us lots of energy. This helps us to be alert and focused.

Discussing our class treaty

Today, we discussed our classroom treaty to help us improve our learning. Some of the things we discussed with our partners include

• sit still on the mat so we can listen and think
• work quietly and stop quickly when asked
• wait for your turn to speak
• be kind to each other
• share ideas with others and focus on the learning
