AFL Kiwikick

We are learning how to play AFL Kiwikick. Last week we learnt to do the handball. We swung our arms and punched the ball to our partner. We loved doing the pirate dance. This week we learnt the high mark and chest mark pass. It was fun.

First we played a warm up game. It was fun.

Then we learned how to do handball. Moeaki was punching the ball to his partner. Well done Moeaki.

Dominick and Daniel are practising the chest pass.

Here is Lei catching the ball in a chest pass. He is pretty good don't you think?

Written English

In Story Writing we are learning how to write our own stotries by ourselves. We will know we can do this when we can:
  •  miss lines and leave finger spaces
  • use time words like 'first', 'next', 'then' and 'finally in our plans and our stories
  • say a sentence, remember it and write it
  • use the feeling chart to help us use better words in our feeling statement.
If you look at our stories you can see that we are getting better everytime we write a new story.

First we wrote about the Christmas Holidays. Lei had a fun time at his Grandma's house.

Next we wrote about what we did in the weekend. Daniel enjoyed playing with his little brother.

Melen had a walk with her family and some nice food. We all wish we had been with you Melen.

Then all the school went to the Life Education Caravan. We wrote about our visit. We used time words for the first time in this story . We used the words to help make the events in our recount happen in order.

The Pictograph.

Our mural to show safe and dangerous places.

Room 3 have been looking at ways to get SPS children onto the bus safely. First we went for a walk on the Mt. Wellington Highway and we looked at what was dangerous and what was safe. Next we did a survey with the bus travellers and made a pictograph about it. Then we made flags to show where the bus stops are and how many kids catch the bus at each stop. Next we made a mural to show the danger points and the safest places. Now we are looking at what changes we can suggest to make bus travel safer for our students.

Room 3 Introduction

Kia Ora

We are Room 3. We are a very special class because we have two teachers who take us for a half a day each. Mrs Bharath is the teacher for the first half of the day and she teaches us Maths and Reading. Mrs Robinson is the teacher for the second half of the day and she teaches us Writing and Inquiry.

We love learning and we always try to do our best.

Call in and come and say hello to us whenever you are around.
